1. Lutein and Zeaxanthin compound extract (Individual Recognition Ingredient, No. 2018-4)
– [Functionality] Helps maintain macular pigment density, which can decrease with aging, thus promoting eye health.
– Among numerous carotenoids, only two types, lutein and zeaxanthin, are found in the human eye.
– Lutein and its isomer zeaxanthin protect the retinal photoreceptor cells from high-energy light, contributing to eye health.
– Macular pigment is primarily composed of lutein, with zeaxanthin located at its center.
– Since lutein and zeaxanthin are not synthesized within the human body like vitamins, they must be obtained through diet.
– In a human application test using Lutein and Zeaxanthin compound extract for 24 weeks, macular pigment density increased by 44.9% compared to before consumption, showing significant results compared to the control group (P < 0.001).

2. Hematococcus extract (Astaxanthin)
– A component derived from Hematococcus for improving eye fatigue.
– Human testing results of Hematococcus extract: In a 4-week study involving 40 adult men and women aged 20 to 60, the intake of 6mg resulted in a significant increase in the eye’s focusing ability (accommodation). This led to improvements in eye fatigue, VAS (visual analog scale) for pain intensity, increased speed of adjustment and relaxation, changes in retinal blood flow, and increased accommodative capacity (change rate).

3. Bilberry Extract
– Resembling blueberries, it is also known as wild blueberries and bears only 1 to 2 fruits, making it a precious fruit.
– Rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols compared to other berry types, it possesses potent antioxidant properties that help eliminate harmful free radicals in the body.
