1. Elastin
– Elastin is an elastic protein that accounts for about 2-3% of the human dermis.
– It helps maintain the elasticity of the skin, similar to a spring, contributing to the skin’s ability to return to its original state when stretched or pulled.
– Elastin supports and anchors collagen in the dermis of the skin.
– It is distributed not only in the skin’s dermis but also throughout the body (about 20% in the lungs, 2-5% in the skin, 50% in arteries, 20-80% in tendons).
– Elastin contributes to the proliferation of ligament and cartilage cells, helping to regenerate ligaments and cartilage. Tendons rich in elastin exhibit excellent elasticity.

1.1 Horse Elastin Peptide
– Derived from horse ligaments, this elastin peptide has more than seven times the content of desmosine and isodesmosine compared to fish-derived elastin peptides.
